This album was never planned. I had two box sets coming out at the end of November 2017 to celebrate my 20 years back in music and I wanted to write some new songs to include on there. Well, the songs just kept coming so we decided to make it a new album!
The album is called ‘Sun Street’, named after the street where I was born, and it’s based on my life as a kid living in the east end of Reading. The songs are about my family, life as a mod in the sixties and the clubs, the women, and all those good times.
It’s not based on any one music genre. The songs have bits of soul, rock, blues & pop. I tried to capture the mood of the times in the music. I could not have got this project off the ground without the help and support of Neil Sadler who co-wrote with me. We wrote some of the songs in the studio together, and it was great going back to the good old east end days.
