Pretty Lethal is a 2026 action thriller directed by Vicky Jewson, released on Amazon Prime Video on March 25 following its world premiere at SXSW. The original motion picture soundtrack was composed by Scottish composer Paul Leonard-Morgan.
A BAFTA Award winner and Emmy and Ivor Novello nominee, Leonard-Morgan is known for his cinematic style fusing orchestral writing with electronica — a signature approach he pushed to new extremes on Pretty Lethal. In interviews, he described the film as a creative challenge: blending classical ballet music with the visceral energy of an action thriller, drawing on resources ranging from full orchestra to rock ensemble.
The soundtrack's emotional and narrative anchor is a reimagining of Snap!'s iconic Eurodance classic «Rhythm Is a Dancer», which appears twice in the film — first as a driving dance remix over the opening titles, and again in a sweeping orchestral arrangement for the triumphant finale. This transformation was crafted by Leonard-Morgan in collaboration with producer Ross Hamilton, also known as Buzz Killer. Beyond this centrepiece, the score weaves in reworkings of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker — deployed at the film's climactic battle — alongside a collection of original cues that match the film's volatile rhythm of grace and brutality.
