Founded in 1992 by doll maker Shizuka Miura and guitarist Maki Miura, the band Shizuka emerged as a unique phenomenon of the Tokyo underground, blending psychedelic rock, folk, and noise. Their sole studio album, "Heavenly Persona" (1994), is defined by its fragile mystical atmosphere and ethereal vocals exploring themes of loneliness and fatalism. Black Editions has produced the first-ever vinyl reissue of this monumental work, featuring remastered audio, extensive archival materials, and the first English translation of the artist's final interview.
