VA - Kingpin - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (1996)

Brothers Peter and Bobby Farrelly populate the soundtrack to their Amish/bowling/crime caper comedy Kingpin with the same schizophrenic glee that they bring to their films. From disco (the Trammps' "Disco Inferno") to college rock (Blues Traveler) to jump blues (Colin James & the Little Big Band), it's like listening to the entire radio. For the most part, Kingpin on record is pleasant and harmless, offering up old AM radio staples like Todd Rundgren's "I Saw the Light" and melancholy adult alternative rock from the likes of Freedy Johnston and Josh Clayton-Felt without a care in the world, but that's kind of the problem.~Review by James Christopher Monger
