Country Girl is the debut studio album by New Zealand country singer Maria Dallas, released in September 1966 on Viking Records. The album brought the singer instant success thanks to the hit "Tumblin' Down," which won the prestigious Loxene Golden Disc Award that same year.
The album's title track became a huge pop hit in New Zealand, reaching number 11 on the charts and earning Maria the award for Best Single of the Year.
Following the success of this album, Maria Dallas headed to Nashville to record new material and later continued her successful career in Australia.
