Gilli Smyth - Every Witches Way (1993)

Founded in 1978 by Gong co-founder Gilli Smyth, Mother Gong emerged as a distinct musical entity inspired by Smyth’s personal and spiritual maternal experiences. The ensemble’s history is characterized by prominent festival appearances and collaborations with avant-garde luminaries such as Fred Frith and Nik Turner. Following a period of stylistic evolution in Australia during the late 1980s, the band transitioned toward complex spontaneous improvisation. Significant milestones of this era include the production of the album "Wild Child" and extensive international touring throughout 1991, which resulted in several live recordings.
