Neptune - Play Some Music (2026)

The experimental rock band Neptune has released its ninth full-length album, "Play Some Music," following a twelve-year hiatus. The record reunites the group's most prominent lineup, consisting of Jason Sidney Sanford, Mark William Pearson, and Daniel Paul Boucher. Conceptually, the album blends improvisation and composition to explore classical mythology and memory. The sonic identity of the release relies on unique, custom-built instruments made from salvaged materials, including steel guitars, amplified drums, circular saw blades, and a feedback organ. The band's signature frenetic style is further expanded with gamelan-like percussion and complex electronic textures.
