"Donkey Fever" by Peter Vermeersch refers to the fever striking in the Land of Plenty. Pinocchio is trapped; everyone gets donkey ears to be incorporated into a slave state in the next stage. The composition is a musical Ouroboros and can start over and continue again and again: snake bites tail.
"No Side Left" by Peter Vandenberghe serves as an answer to Frederic Rzewski’s “Who’s Side Are You On”; there is no sensible side to choose. We have all been drummed into a corner, corner time for everyone.
"Washaway" by Peter Vermeersch: after millions of years of patient mutating and selecting, nature has succeeded in developing an intelligent being with the intention of destroying itself and starting over from scratch.
The songs “Kyrie Asini” and “Hez! Sire Asnez Hez!” appear in a medieval Latin-French song known as "Orientis partibus" or the "Song of the Ass". It dates from the 12th or 13th century and was sung during the Feast of the Donkey (Fête de l'âne) or the Feast of the Fools in France.
