Meitei - AGATE (2026)

The album Agate extends the thematic universe of Meitei’s Kofū trilogy, integrating new material with refined pieces developed during five years of global touring. Central to the work is the "Shinpu" concept, which utilizes Japanese folklore and historical memory as an atmospheric foundation for contemporary experimentation rather than rigid reconstruction. The compositions feature dense textures, fluid rhythms, and the transformation of traditional instrumentation. This dialogue between heritage and modernity is further reflected in the album’s visual aesthetic, produced in collaboration with Kyoto-based artisans and calligraphers.
