Australian garage-punk quartet Crocodylus announce their forthcoming album ‘Limbo, Please Be Good To Me’, set for release April 24 via ORiGiN Recordings. Today, the band also share their new track Attention.

Coming together during a period of change, ‘Limbo, Please Be Good To Me’ is a by-product of maturing as a group of songwriters. Working with producer Wade Keighran, Crocodylus turn away from conventional song structures, limiting bar chords and run through a kaleidoscope of softer, sympathetic cuts. Across the record, they charge through all stops of self-doubt and apprehension to reshape what is possible within the confines of their project.

Late last year the band shared Limbo, supported locally across triple j, triple j Unearthed, RAGE and more for its “victorious anthemic energy” (Anika Luna, triple j), it also caught the attention of tastemakers across CLUNK Magazine, God Is In The TV, Ones To Watch and more.

A raucous backdrop that delivers a melodic anchor for the track’s catharsis, Attention is another example of Crocodylus’ kinetic energy. Drawn up by Josh Williams (bass/vocals), Stephen Sacco (guitar/vocals), Mikel Salvador (drums/vocals), Nick Meadows (keys/saxophone/percussion) and Jake Voroshine (bass), the track is an invigorating rush fuelled by pure, uncut alt-rock.

Attention in Josh‘s words is “my favourite riff on the album – influenced by Sonic Youth and The Smile. The unison of guitars and saxophone works so well here. It’s quick and catchy; honestly, it feels like we could’ve extended the choruses a bit more. The lyrics are about struggling with ADD. A personal favourite line: “Tell me, how have you been? Sorry I wasn’t listening.”

Making a name for themselves in Eora/Sydney’s local landscape for their brand of “fuzzy, blissed-out alt rock” (Blunt Magazine), Crocodylus are a pillar of their own making. With two albums under their belt already, the band have since spent the last three years writing and refining their frenetic yet intricate sound which draws heavily on their personal and instrumental dynamics.

Renowned for their exhilarating live show that has built up a fervent fan base, Crocodylus have taken their music to headline shows in their hometown of Eora/Sydney’s Northern Beaches to the UK and Europe, performing alongside the likes of Ocean Alley, Hockey Dad, The Chats and more. With ‘Limbo, Please Be Good To Me’ they’ve created a statement that is a personal relationship with their craft and seek to source what place this record has in the larger realm of contemporary guitar music.
