With Tasti Ostinati, Eva-Maria Rusche sheds light on the tonal and stylistic diversity of historical keyboard instruments in the context of the ostinato tradition - the musical structure that has always served as the basis for variation and improvisation and is closely interwoven with dance music. Each piece is dedicated to a different instrument - lute, clavichord, fortepiano, square piano, two historical organs, two harpsichords and even a Fender Rhodes bring the works to life in a wide variety of timbres. The idea of creative freedom inherent in ostinati is also transferred to the choice of instruments.
