Straight to Hell (Soundtrack from the Netflix Series) is the original score for the Japanese Netflix biographical drama composed by pianist and composer Hibiki Inamoto. The series spans six decades — from mid-20th century to the early 2000s — chronicling the life of Kazuko Hosoki, the legendary fortune-teller who captivated Japan with her "Six-Star Divination" practice and her unflinching catchphrase: "You're going to hell."
Inamoto, best known internationally for scoring NHK's 2023 taiga drama Dousuru Ieyasu, built the score around the hebibue — a Japanese snake-flute whose timbre carries deep folkloric associations with charm, seduction, and the uncanny. The instrument functions as Hosoki's sonic signature throughout the series, providing a layer of critical subtext that the dialogue never explicitly articulates. Already in the teaser, Inamoto's music establishes the intensity and moral ambiguity that defines the entire narrative arc.
Born in Osaka in 1977, Inamoto began piano studies at age three and made his stage debut at five. His European concert tours earned recognition from major German publications, and he later performed alongside top members of the Berlin Philharmonic. By the time of Straight to Hell, he had built an extensive career across award-winning Japanese cinema and major television productions. The album, comprising 30 original tracks, was released on April 27, 2026, concurrent with the global premiere of the series on Netflix.
