Leonardo Cesari Jazz Combo - Chasing the Beat (2011)

Leonardo Cesari Jazz Combo is a Roman jazz quintet fusing the hard bop aesthetics of the 1950s–60s with the energy of contemporary club music. The album Chasing the Beat presents ten original compositions evoking the legacy of Horace Silver, Cannonball Adderley, and Lee Morgan. The group was founded by drummer and producer Leonardo Cesari — a veteran of the Roman rock band Tiromancino and the klezmer ensemble Klezroym. The lineup features established figures of the Roman jazz scene: Claudio Corvini (trumpet), Federico Pascucci (tenor saxophone), Bruno Salicone (piano), and Gabriele Greco (double bass).
