Ben Musser, widely recognized as the frontman of the project Benyaro, marks his solo debut with the album Sentimental Fever. This project is the culmination of a twenty-year career and serves as the ultimate realization of a "one-man band" concept; Musser wrote every track and performed all instrumental parts himself, including drums, keyboards, guitar, and accordion. The album was recorded during an intense two-week session in California in collaboration with legendary producer Scott Mathews. Shifting away from the angst-driven tone of his earlier work, this release reflects Musser's personal maturity, an embrace of artistic sensitivity, and a focus on intimate themes such as fatherhood and family. Musically, the album blends Americana, rock, doo-wop, and piano ballads, representing the artist's most comprehensive and sincere creative statement to date.
