Jeff Lederer - There's a Yearnin' (2026) [Hi-Res]

Jeff Lederer’s upcoming album, There’s a Yearnin’ (slated for release in May 2026), explores the intersection of jazz and formal notation by reviving overlooked works by Eric Dolphy, Ornette Coleman, and Oliver Nelson. A central feature of the project is the premiere recording of a Dolphy woodwind sextet, which Lederer recovered from the Library of Congress archives. The release aims to bring the sophisticated, non-improvised compositional legacies of these jazz icons back into circulation, bridging the gap between their historical innovations and contemporary performance.
