Everything Ends In Spring is an EP recorded by The American Analog Set in 2005 alongside their final studio album Set Free, distributed exclusively at tour dates as a limited 12" release on the Ruined Potential imprint. Pressed in just 400 copies on clear 180g vinyl, it presented extended versions of four tracks from Set Free, complete with lyrics and tabs in a card inner sleeve.
Rather than conventional remixes, these are expansions from the inside out — the band dwelling deeper in their riffs, stretching them with deliberate, almost ceremonial patience. Tracks like "Cool Kids Keep," "First of Four," "The Green Green Grass," and the title piece unfold across seven to nine minutes, revealing a meditative, hypnotic dimension that the album's more concise arrangements only hinted at.
The American Analog Set — formed in Fort Worth and based in Austin, Texas — built their reputation on hushed, emotionally restrained vocals, sparse arrangements, and a warm analogue palette of vintage Rhodes, Farfisa, and vibraphone. Under the guidance of singer-songwriter Andrew Kenny, the group cultivated a singular language poised between krautrock repetition, slowcore restraint, and ambient pop drift. Pitchfork praised Set Free's neo-motorik consistency, rating it 7.5 and noting the band's refined slowcore aesthetic.
In 2026, the EP was reissued as part of the comprehensive Destroy Destroy Destroy box set on The Numero Group — a six-LP collection gathering the complete studio recordings of the band's second chapter, including the Know By Heart, Promise Of Love, and Set Free LPs, alongside two further discs of singles, B-sides, alternates, and outtakes, accompanied by a 36-page booklet of photographs and handwritten ephemera from the era.
