Bolbec's second album, Foutu Félin, is an instrumental exploration of European cinematic aesthetics from the 1960s to the 1980s. Axel Concato and Barth Corbelet deliberately eschew contemporary texture-heavy soundtracks in favor of expressive melodies, harmonies, and rhythms, drawing inspiration from the works of Ennio Morricone, Michel Legrand, and Piero Umiliani. The duo's creative method blends introspective home composing with cut-and-paste production techniques and live improvisation by guest British jazz musicians. The album constructs a cohesive "imaginary cinematic universe," where each track functions as a self-contained scene, integrating elements of classical minimalism, jazz, and trip-hop.
