Berlin-based artist Dumama releases her solo debut album, "Towards An Expanse," on Soundway Records. The record is the culmination of a six-year international recording process spanning New York, Berlin, and various cities in South Africa. The project is a sophisticated electro-acoustic work where South African lore and ancestral voices merge with contemporary experimental sounds reminiscent of Björk and FKA Twigs. The album explores themes of grief, Black autonomy, and circular time, blending elements of gospel, ambient, and future folk.
