Tremor - Takuy (2026)

Takuy is the new full-length album by Argentine ensemble Tremor, released on ZZK Records in 2026. The project is led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Leonardo Martinelli alongside percussionist Camilo Carabajal — a bombo legüero specialist from a lineage of traditional Argentine folklore musicians — and Gerardo Farez, an analogue synthesis maestro and keyboardist. For Takuy, the trio welcomes violinist Alex Musatov, whose live string arrangements and synthetic textures expand the ensemble's sonic range.
Tremor returns with its nomadic spirit, moving against the current and relentlessly exploring diverse soundscapes. Takuy embodies the group's long-standing principle of fusing apparent opposites: constantly redefining their vision of mestizaje, they weave together industrial elements, electronica, criolla psychedelia, and deep explorations of Argentine folklore.
The album's instrumentation brings traditional South American sources — bombo legüero, candombe drums, cowbells, shakers, Brazilian berimbau, acoustic slide guitar — into dialogue with a contemporary electronic arsenal: harps, theremins, whammy-infused guitars, 8-bit arpeggiators, and metallophones create psychedelic soundscapes, anchored by Carabajal's percussion. Structural experimentation runs throughout: several tracks depart from a conventional 4/4 grid, generating a productive sense of unpredictability. Takuy reaffirms Tremor's position as one of the principal architects of "digital folklore" — the genre that ZZK Records has championed since its founding in Buenos Aires in 2008.
