Italian jazz saxophonist Francesco Cafiso has released a new album, "Where It All Returns" (E-Flat Records), concluding a musical trilogy initiated in 2020 with the "Irene of Boston" project. The compositions for the record were written during the musician's three-year residency in New York and his studies at the Juilliard School; nevertheless, they are conceptually inspired by the themes of the sea and his native Sicily. The album's musical framework represents a dialogue between orchestral structure and jazz improvisation, recorded in collaboration with the London Symphony Orchestra and arranger Mauro Schiavone. The production highlights a creative bridge between New York's dynamic environment and the artist's Sicilian roots. Additionally, Cafiso was recently awarded an honorary degree in Jazz Saxophone by the State Conservatory of Music "Tchaikovsky" in Nocera Terinese.
