Carly King - Loving You is Easy Nashville (2026)

Nashville singer songwriter Carly King’s new album Loving You is Easy is a welcome addition to the Americana library this year. An elegant, lovely debut, this album explores human relationships and the experiences that craft a person into who they are, with hushed guitar and mandolin supporting Carly’s gentle and sincere twangy vocal.

“Three Martinis” sets the mood for the album. It’s set in a New York City hotel room with a first date sort of vibe. The alluring acoustic guitar is overlaid with Carly’s winsome drawl and “nothin I can say is gonna save me, you’ve heard it all before, I knew this time was different than every time before, Catch me in the morning after I sang you to sleep in a hotel room.”

“Sweep” is a song about comparing old wounds and making fresh starts, “I don’t want to know, you don’t have to tell me, I won’t go.” The chorus has a great build-up and automatically sticks in your memory. The title track sheds light on an uneasy truth, that sometimes we’ve been through so much we’re afraid to trust something easy when it comes along. It’s set to a sunny upbeat rhythm.

“Nana’s Interlude” is a recording of a Nana’s simple advice. In “Sister Cece” the acoustic guitar cascades like falling water in an ode to a 15 year old vagabond, “the daughter of a father who left for work and didn’t come home.” Later in “Ramona” Carly delves into the emotions of what a newborn baby means, “Ramona was born today / The world stopped spinning / Your grace, take your place / Brooklyn, take her in / Keep her safe.”

Loving You Is Easy is an appealingly realized vision of honesty and stories of simple human relationships – love, familial, and those of friendship and understanding.
