The album is a large-scale avant-garde exploration that merges theoretical physics with experimental musical performance. The program is constructed around three pillars of modern science: the special theory of relativity, the general theory of relativity, and quantum mechanics. Composer and pianist Olga Witte utilizes the prepared grand piano as a laboratory, extracting sounds not only via the keys but directly from the inner strings using violin bow hair, felt mallets, and extended finger techniques. The structural foundation of the compositions relies on complex physical models — ranging from complementarity in the double-slit experiment to the curvature of spacetime. Musically, the work blurs the boundaries between experimental jazz, contemporary classical composition, and the traditional structural practices of Balinese gamelan, an area to which the artist has dedicated long-term ethnomusicological field research.
