Devlin and The Harm is the self-titled debut album by a new Los Angeles trio led by Devlin McCluskey, formerly of The Dead Ships. Recorded over three arduous years marked by drummer Michael Nussbaum's near-fatal accident and the death of McCluskey's father, the album was produced by Alex Newport (Death Cab for Cutie, Bloc Party). Musically, it combines raw garage rock with orchestral arrangements, drawing on 1970s rock, soul, baroque pop, and dark Americana, while addressing themes of grief, sobriety, love, and social fracture.
