Bahar Movahed - Together Yet Alone (2026) [Hi-Res]

California-based Iranian singer Bahar Movahed is set to release her first solo album in Farsi, titled Together Yet Alone. The project stands as a defiant tribute to Persian classical music and a poignant response to Iran's restrictions on public female singing. Developed remotely during the pandemic in collaboration with renowned Iranian composer Navid Dehghan, the album was recorded over three days in Tehran with his 14-piece Ghamar Ensemble. The record makes history as Movahed becomes the first female vocalist to perform in Rast-Panjgah, the most complex mode of the traditional dastgāh system. Lyrically anchored by centuries of timeless poetry from Rumi and Saadi to modern writers, the album serves as a voice of resilience, grief, and hope for Iranian women. It is being released by Adhyâropa Records, though political and travel restrictions currently prevent live performances in both Iran and the United States.
