Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - Banco (1983)

"Banco" (1983) is the twelfth studio album by the legendary Italian progressive rock band Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso. This record marked the band's definitive transition from the classic, complex art rock of the 1970s to a more accessible, commercially oriented Italian pop rock and new wave (synth-pop) with an abundance of electronic keyboards. During this period (1979 to 1990), the band officially shortened its name to the laconic Banco.
This shift away from long, epic compositions toward shorter songs, a radio-friendly format, and the use of modern synthesizers (Chroma, Roland Jupiter, Yamaha). Francesco Di Giacomo's unique operatic vocals, however, remained the signature of the release.
