Les Tireux d'Roches - La déroute (2026) [Hi-Res]

La déroute is the new studio album by the Quebec folk-trad ensemble Les Tireux d'Roches, released in May 2026 on the cooperative label COOP Les Faux-Monnayeurs. Founded in 1998 in the village of St-Élie-de-Caxton (Mauricie region, Quebec), the band has, over more than two decades, become one of the most distinctive voices on the contemporary Quebec traditional scene. The album continues the group's signature identity as storyteller-songsmiths who play a broad arsenal of instruments — accordion, bouzouki, guitar, transverse flute, baritone saxophone, harmonica and podorythmie (foot percussion). After the fully instrumental Tapiskwan Sipi (2021), the band returns to the song form on La déroute, reflected in track titles with a clear social and ironic bent ("Les migrants," "Un monde jetable," "Journées sans culture," and the title track "La déroute"). The themes play on lost bearings, migration and the disposability of the modern world, while staying true to the band's boisterous, celebratory spirit.
