My House Is Your House is the sole full-length record by Clete Stallbaumer, tracked in July 1978 at Sound Conception Studios in Bristol and self-released on Open Door Records in a near-promo pressing. American-born brothers Clete and Dave Stallbaumer assembled a tight local unit — Dave on drums, Mike Sparks on bass, and Mike Pryer on guitars and keys — to cut ten originals that sit comfortably within the British late-'70s guitar-pop continuum. The album moves between driving pub-rock momentum ("Me and the Boys," "Speedway," "Motoring") and tender acoustic moments ("A Song for Rachel," "John's Song"), bound by strong dual-guitar melodicism and close harmony vocals. Collectors have long noted its affinity with Help Yourself, Big Star, and Shape of the Rain. After the LP, Clete and Dave regrouped as The Toys, releasing a handful of power-pop singles before dissolving around 1980–81. The record remained largely unknown until private-press archivists surfaced it, and Anthology Recordings' interest in the catalog — beginning with "John's Song" on the Maybe I'm Dreaming compilation — signals a long-overdue wider reissue.
