Bobby Johnston - Wristcutters: A Love Story (Original Motion Picture Score) (2026)

For the 20th anniversary of the 2006 comedy-drama film "Wristcutters: A Love Story," directed by Goran Dukic, a special edition of the original score by composer Bobby Johnston has been released. The film's plot is set in a specific afterlife way station for suicide victims where everything is slightly worse than in the regular world. To convey this purgatorial atmosphere, Johnston eschewed electronic production and recorded all the material himself using exclusively acoustic, often broken, detuned, or prepared instruments, including a bowed saw, ruined pianos, and blown bottles. Bobby Johnston is an acclaimed Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist with extensive experience composing for feature films, documentaries, television, and radio.
