"Triosophy" is the debut studio album by the Italian instrumental trio Red Sun, released on September 19, 2015, on the independent label Desert Fox Records (the album was later successfully reissued on vinyl by Spin On Black).
The band formed in March 2014 in the Italian province of Piacenza (Emilia-Romagna region) after a series of spontaneous late-night jam sessions. The title of their debut album is a portmanteau of the words "Trio" and "Philosophy," alluding to the conceptual trinity of the musicians (Mirko on bass, Fede on drums, and Eno on guitar) and their shared creative vision.
The album was deeply inspired by solitary nighttime rehearsals in an old abandoned mill in the Piacenza countryside. The entire record is imbued with images of nature, the night sky, and the sun.
The album is prized by fans of the instrumental underground for its excellent dynamics: it doesn't become tiresome with monotony thanks to the constant change of rhythmic patterns, confident drum work, and a beautiful, shimmering guitar solo.
