British musician and producer Robin Scott, who began his career documenting the late 1970s punk scene in Paris, achieved international fame through his synth-pop project "M" and the global hit "Pop Muzik" (1979). Within this project, he collaborated with notable figures such as vocalist Brigitte Novik, keyboardist Wally Badarou, and future members of Level 42. In the early 1980s, Scott expanded his artistic horizons through a collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto and turned his attention to world music, eventually producing African artists and recording a joint album with the South African vocal trio Shikisha in Kenya.
