Motiffe - Motiffe (2026)

The only self-titled album by the British underground progressive jazz-rock band Motiffe, privately released in 1973 in an edition of fewer than 100 copies, is recognized as one of the rarest artifacts of the local scene. Crafted by brothers John Grimaldi, Mark Pasterfield, and their bandmates, the recording features an extreme lo-fi sound resulting from a microphone suspended from the ceiling. In its dark, uncompromising intensity, the musical material draws strong stylistic comparisons to the classic work of King Crimson during their Larks’ Tongues in Aspic era.
