"Bring It On" is the debut studio album by American rock band Leadfoot, released in 1997 on The Music Cartel.
For many fans of the '90s heavy metal scene, this release was a pleasant surprise, as the band was essentially a supergroup formed by musicians from the cult stoner-doom band The Obsessed. After their breakup, vocalist Carl Snell and bassist Guy Pinchas joined forces to create something completely different in mood, but no less powerful in energy.
The album is a breeze to listen to, thanks to its excellent balance between straightforward rockers and mid-tempo tracks. Tracks like the title track "Bring It On" or the hurricane-inducing "Snake Charmer" instantly grab you with their riffs. At the same time, the band doesn't shy away from rolling, lengthy jams, revealing their psychedelic roots.
Bottom line: "Bring It On" is an unfairly forgotten classic of late '90s stoner rock. The album manages to be simultaneously heavy, technical, and incredibly party-friendly. The band managed a rare feat: crossing the rigor of underground desert rock with the debauched spirit of classic Southern hard rock.
