Mo van der Does - Motet: Live at Bimhuis (Live) (2026)

The new live album Motet: Live At Bimhuis by the Amsterdam-based ensemble The Motet recreates the unique atmosphere of a live performance on the stage of the iconic Dutch jazz club Bimhuis, which has been hosting artists since 1974. The young musicians present a deep and contrasting tapestry within the Jazz and Contemporary Jazz genres, where lyrical instrumental passages coexist with powerful rhythmic grooves and large-scale orchestral climaxes. The concept of the release is woven from eclectic cultural codes: the creators drew inspiration from the cinematic aesthetics of the horror film "Midsommar," the atmosphere of Scandinavian Copenhagen, and the mythological image of the god Apollo. The album offers the listener a cinematic audio experience that expands the conventional boundaries of club-style improvisational jazz.
