The artistry of the seven-piece French collective DIYA FASO, founded by Burkinabé multi-instrumentalist Salifou Diarra, stands as a vibrant humanist manifesto designed to counter modern societal pessimism. Having resided in Angoulême for over a decade, the bandleader successfully translates rich West African traditions onto the European stage. A defining feature of the project is the performance of lyrics in the Dioula language (Mande family), which infuses the sound with deep authenticity. The musical concept is built upon an explosive and organic synthesis, where traditional Afro-Manding music merges with dense modern groove and elements of reggae. Rejecting political ideologies and sarcasm, DIYA FASO utilize their uplifting Afro-groove tracks as a universal medium to unite people, celebrating foundational values: peace, brotherhood, ecology, and genuine joy.
