The Goombay Dance Band is a German pop music band that has been active since the late 1970s. It was formed in 1979. Its membership has changed several times over the years, but their frontman Oliver Bendt, the founder of the band, has remained. Their music mixed the hot rhythms of the Caribbean archipelago with the melodiousness of Eurodisco. They were really popular in the early 80s, and their songs were played a lot in discos and on radio stations' pop music programs at that time. They also performed in Hungary several times.
