"Music From NFL Films, Vol. 2" (1970) is the second volume of American composer Sam Spence's debut instrumental collection, released in 1970 following the first volume. As with the first volume, the original vinyl releases often featured the artist under the pseudonym "Elliot Blair Orchestra." The record cemented Spence's status as the leading architect of American football's musical style.
While the first volume laid the foundation for a "heroic" sports soundtrack, "Vol. 2" became more experimental, gritty, and rhythmically complex. Recorded in Munich with top German jazz musicians, it added a European polish and richness to the album's sound.
