"Music From NFL Films, Vol. 3" is the third installment in the iconic archival album series by American composer Sam Spence, whose music has become a hallmark of the golden era of American football.

The original vinyl release (featuring The Elliot Blair Orchestra) was released in 1977, and in 2010, a digital version of the album was reissued by Cherry Lane Music with bonus tracks.

The album's sound is classic "cinematic sports": powerful brass sections, pompous orchestral marches, dramatic string arrangements, and elements of funk and early electronica create an atmosphere of heroic rivalry on the field.

Sam Spence created this music in Munich, Germany, working with local orchestral musicians. Spence's musical themes, combined with the iconic voiceover of announcer John Facenda, effectively shaped the unique mythological style of NFL Films' documentaries in the 1970s.
