Marillion is a neo-progressive rock band formed in 1979 in Britain that bridged the gap between punk and progressive rock. Their legendary performance at the Open-Air festival in Mannheim in 1986 before an audience of 150,000 as special guests of Queen became a defining moment in the band's history, showcasing their prowess as a live act. Despite critical neglect by the British press, Marillion built a global fanbase and became instrumental in the development of crowdfunding in the music industry, selling over 15 million albums worldwide.
