Trever M. Keith, legendary frontman of punk band Face To Face, is releasing a new solo album titled "We Drank From A Poisoned Well". The album's title track initially appears to be a love letter to a distant, unresponsive partner, but it functions as a metaphorical letter to the United States itself. Keith, born in the late 1960s, once believed in achieving the American Dream, but his perspective shifted over time.
After spending more than 15 years with Face To Face, exploring a solo career, and reuniting with the band, Keith is now based in Nashville. His new work reflects the influence of country music from his childhood in Hesperia, California—a landscape populated by artists like George Jones, Conway Twitty, and Patsy Cline.
Rather than channeling political anger, the album embraces quiet reflection on lost innocence and the realization that the American Dream was never a genuine promise. Keith conveys the slow understanding that the well was poisoned from the start. The album releases July 10 through Antagonist Records.
