Sherbet - Sherbet (1978)

"Sherbet" is the seventh studio album by the Australian pop rock band Sherbet, released in August 1978 on Festival Records.

This release marked a significant milestone in the band's history: it marked the peak of their commercial dominance in Australia, but also marked their final album before temporarily renaming the band and changing their musical direction.

In the mid-1970s, Sherbet (led by charismatic frontman Daryl Braithwaite) were Australia's premier pop group. However, by 1978, the teenage audience that had fueled their immense popularity had begun to mature, and musical trends had shifted toward disco and new wave.

The self-titled album "Sherbet" was the band's attempt to present more mature, grown-up, and sophisticated material.
