"Prendere e lasciare" is the thirteenth studio album by the distinguished Italian cantautore Francesco De Gregori, released in 1996 on Columbia Records. This album marked a significant milestone in his discography, marking a sonic renewal thanks to his collaboration with renowned producer and arranger Corrado Rustici, who had previously worked successfully with Zucchero.

The album's release was accompanied by heated debate in the Italian press, both due to its musical radicalism (longtime fans of De Gregori were reluctant to embrace Rustici's modern "American" sound) and the song content.

Despite the initial controversy, "Prendere e lasciare" is now recognized as one of De Gregori's boldest, most powerful, and stylistically cohesive albums of the 1990s.
