Tercet Imperial - Prymat (2026) [Hi-Res]

Tercet Imperial marks a pivotal shift in Polish music, transitioning away from Anglo-Saxon influences toward the authentic rural traditions of the Radom heartland. The band, consisting of Joanna Sztucka, Jan Emil Młynarski, and Piotr Zabrodzki, recently won the Grand Prix at the 2025 Polish Radio New Tradition festival. By utilizing modern synthesizers and electrified percussion to perform traditional folk forms like mazurkas and oberkas, the group challenges the notion that archaic music requires historical instruments. The members bring together diverse backgrounds, ranging from traditional vocal training to jazz-influenced keyboard work and global percussive rhythms. Their debut project serves as a manifesto against musical stagnation, replacing standard mainstream sounds with the ritualistic power of local folklore. Tercet Imperial ultimately asserts that traditional Polish music possesses the depth and intensity to redefine the contemporary cultural landscape.
