Brandon Seabrook - Utility Modern (2026) [Hi-Res]

The album “Utility Modern” by New York guitarist and banjoist Brandon Seabrook, featuring guitarist Bill Frisell, bassist Rashaan Carter, and drummer Marcus Gilmore, is an exploration of avant-garde jazz and experimental soundscapes. Rather than indulging in weirdness for its own sake, the ensemble utilizes alternate tunings, pungent chord progressions, and uncomfortable sonic textures to achieve profound emotional resonance. Balancing uncompromising experimentation with genuine expression, the quartet delivers a daring, defiantly original listening experience tailored for adventurous listeners.
