Sagor & Swing - Rymdsonden (2026) [Hi-Res]

The Swedish instrumental duo Sagor & Swing has released a concept LP, “Rymdsonden” (“The Space Probe”), on Subliminal Sounds. The music blends space jazz with psychedelia, progressive rock, folk, and electronic music: extended instrumental landscapes combine melody with experimentation, atmospheric passages give way to driving grooves, and delicate folkloric motifs surface in between. Improvisation and composed structure are inseparable here, and the narrative density holds throughout the album.

The record is built on a science-fiction premise: humanity makes contact with Saturn and chooses this very duo as its musical ambassadors. The LP comes with a code for a free download of the English-language book “The Space Probe,” which reflects on the music through written essays. The album thus becomes a multilayered project of sound and text, and it sums up more than twenty-five years of the duo’s work with the album format, showing that their artistic practice continues to evolve.
