Terri Lynne Carrington has gotten more and more righteous in recent years – and here, she opens the door to let in a whole host of equally righteous talents – a long list of musicians and singers that includes Brandee Younger, Aaron Parks, Rashaan Carter, Ian Michael, Angela Davis, Lizz Wright, Aja Monet, and many others – all of whom help create a record that shows a whole new side of Terri's talents! At some level, this is almost Carrington's equivalent of the Black Radio projects from Robert Glasper – although the effect here is less to focus in on a certain aesthetic, and more to open up in many directions that showcase the individual talents in the mix!
