Jessta James - Lawless: Day (2016)

Lawless: Day is a full-length album by American artist Jessta James, released on May 23, 2016, via Dark Highway Records. It is the first part of a double project (Lawless: Day and Lawless: Night), released on the same day.

After releasing his debut album, Time to Get Right, in 2013, Jessta James returned in 2016 with an ambitious double album concept. Lawless: Day focuses on a lighter, more energetic, and guitar-driven country sound.

Musically, the album is built on a combination of acoustic guitars, Southern rock, street raps, and pumping choruses. Unlike its "nighttime" second half (Lawless: Night), dominated by a dark hip-hop beat, Lawless: Day offers a more traditional country-rock vibe for daytime drives, summer parties, and outdoor activities.
