VA - L.A. Blues Authority (1992)

This album features high-profile rock musicians doing their versions of older blues songs. The label that released this album is a division of Shrapnel records, so you can expect some exceptional guitar playing here; Big names like Zakk Wylde, Richie Kotzen, George Lynch, and Paul Gilbert are all on this album. Each track has a lot of great blues playing but with a good dose of shredding that Shrapnel is known for. My favorite tracks are "Messin' With the Kid" featuring Glenn Hughes on vocals and "Rollin' and Tumblin'" which has some cool harmonica playing by Little John Chrisley. A cool album to pick up since all of these big players are doing something different than what they're known for.
