Infinitefreefall - Cursed Object (2026) [Hi-Res]

Charleston-based project Infinitefreefall has released its fourth full-length album, "Cursed Object" — a record its creators describe as the sound of a collective descent into hell. The music is built on a collision of disparate elements: kaleidoscopic, experimental electronic textures clash with bracing, forceful rock instrumentation, topped off with recognizable pop hooks. As a result, the sound seems to exist outside linear time, looking simultaneously into the past and the future.

The album's genre palette is deliberately wide-ranging and resists easy classification: psych-pop, space-rock, trip-hop, dance-punk — and that's just what's visible on the surface, with even more peripheral influences lurking beneath. The album was entirely self-produced by the collective, and its songwriting rests on a disarming, bold approach. The record's centerpiece is its title track — a monolithic, fully improvised fifteen-minute piece that closes the album. This isn't the first time Infinitefreefall — simultaneously a one-person producer project and a full band — has deliberately blurred genre lines; "Cursed Object" continues that trajectory on a new turn.
