Ayako Okubo, Olivier Maurel and Samuel Andreyev - Soudain (Original Score) (2026) [Hi-Res]

Métier Records recently announced the release of the original score for Soudain (All of a Sudden), a film directed by Oscar-winner Ryûsuke Hamaguchi. This original score for Soudain (All of a Sudden) serves as the debut motion picture soundtrack for composer Samuel Andreyev, who crafted the work alongside flutist Ayako Okobu and percussionist Olivier Maurel. The music supports the narrative of the film, which premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and explores themes of love, mortality, and human connection within a Paris care home. Hamaguchi commissioned the original score for Soudain (All of a Sudden) to provide a subtle emotional counterpoint to the on-screen action, requesting multiple versions of each composition to achieve the desired tone. The resulting project includes twenty minutes of film music plus additional unreleased tracks that capture the collaboration between the director and the composer. Following an initial single release in July, the complete album arrives digitally on 7 August ahead of the theatrical debut in France, with a vinyl version to follow.
