Dionne Warwick - Tropical Love (2015)

American vocalist Dionne Warwick released the archival EP Tropical Love through Arista / Sony CMG, compiled from unreleased material recorded during her 1994 studio sessions. The original album, Aquarela Do Brasil, was tracked in Rio de Janeiro as a sophisticated tribute to Brazilian musical heritage, though it received minimal promotional backing from the label at the time. Two decades later, five rare outtakes were brought out of the vaults through the Official International Dionne Warwick Fan Club.

Produced by Brazilian drummer Teo Lima, the record delivers an elegant fusion of bossa nova, soul, and smooth jazz. The sessions featured top-tier figures from both the Brazilian and American music scenes, including composers Edu Lobo, Ivan Lins, Milton Nascimento, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Brenda Russell, and Burt Bacharach. The tracklist highlights duets with Edu Lobo and Ivan Lins, interpretations of classics by Jon Lucien, and refined adult-contemporary ballads showcasing the singer's nuanced vocal dynamics.
